主讲人简介
 
          Jacek F. Gieras received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in 1975 from Poznan University of Technology, Poland. Since 1998 he has been affiliated with United Technologies Corporation, U.S.A.. In 2007 he also became a full professor of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
          Prof. Gieras authored and co-authored 11 books of international standing, over 290 scientific and technical papers and over 70 patents and patent publications. He is a Hamilton Sundstrand Fellow，a full member of the International Academy of Electrical Engineering, and a member of the steering committees of numerous international conferences. His research areas include electrical machines, drives, electromagnetics, power systems, and railway engineering.

主讲内容简介

          Ultra-high-speed ground transportation system can generate economic benefits, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce travel time between cities. In this seminar, we will discuss the prospects of future ultra-high-speed ground transportation, especially the type of linear motor that allows maglev trains to pass through low-pressure pipelines at a speed of 1000 km/h or faster.
