Research interests
Road accident is an international problem. There are about 1200 thousands of people died in road accidents all over the world every year, 70 percent of which are from developing countries. China is one of those countries suffering such server dilemma. “Transportation safety and emergency guarantee” has been put in the prior and key place in the “Outline of the National Program for Long- and Medium-Term Scientific and Technological Development”. According to the historical accident data from the Ministry of Public Security, 99 percent of the accidents are directly related to drivers’ illegal activities. Driver’s behavior is the primary contributor to road accidents compared with other factors such as vehicle, road and driving environment.
Accident prevention is the research direction of our team. Our research mainly focuses on driver’s behavior, psychology and physiology. Specifically, our research aspects include the extraction and modeling method of the characteristics of driver’s behavior, psychology and physiology; driver’s behavior modeling; reliability and risk control of driver’s behavior; and road planning and traffic management based on driver’s behavior, psychology and physiology.
With years of hard work, our team has published more than 20 papers which are included in SCI/SSCI, and obtained the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from China Highway Society, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from Hebei province, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Public Security, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from China Highway Society, and several third prizes from provincial departments.
Trough the project of alpine areas and high plateaus, our team is expected to build a package of technology and intellectual property of driver’s behavior, psychology and physiology, get more national and provincial research projects and scientific awards, publish a bunch of high level papers, and train some experts on road traffic safety area.
